Captains Comment
This may not have been Harrow Juniors' top line-up, but, with Colin Crouch 'filling-in' on top board, this was still a tremendous win for Ealing.
A 120+ player is occasionally found in Hiingdon's Div.3, Ealing C's normally habitat, but never a 210-graded IM! Conceding 15 years and the best part of a hundred grading points, David nonetheless stayed with Colin for 40 moves, before finally accepting that the imminent coronation of an advanced pawn spelt doom.
The junior Dhemrait doubled Harrow's advnatge by besting Anthony Woods, but Amars brought Ealing back into the match when he proved too strong for the father.
Ealing's victory came courtesy of wins on the bottom two boards by Martin Loat and Tim McCullagh.
We look forward to the draw for the next round with interest. Wembley here we come!
