On Monday, 2nd October 2023, John Quinn gave an an extremely interesting chess talk to a group of ECC members on the thoughts of the tactics and strategy behind one of his games. The game that he discussed was against the GM Sergei Beshukov which he played (and won) at the Bodensee Open tournament in Bregenz, Austria in May 2018. John’s rating at the time was 2139 while Sergei’s rating was 2405.

I hope John also found time to visit a performance at the open air opera on Lake Constance (Bodensee) for which Bregenz is internationally famous.
