The club was treated to an excellent, interactive chess talk with Lorin D’Costa at Actonians on 24th October. The talk started started at 7:30pm and didn’t finish until after 10:30pm

The main theme of the night was women’s world champions but the talk was interspersed with descriptions and analyses of interesting games from various women’s world champions. At interesting points in the games, attendees were invited to pair up and play out the rest of the games. Discussions of various moves between the players were encouraged with added input from Lorin. The actual games’ moves were then discussed with Lorin afterwards.

I’m sure all attendees gained experience from the evening and everybody said how much they enjoyed the evening. However, the turnout from club members was disappointing.
