The season finished with us on played 10, won 4, lost 4 and 2 drawn matches. We did the double over Greenford, and West London did the same to us. Honours even vs Harrow juniors, we won and drew vs Uxbridge, and drew and lost to Harrow.

Looks almost certain Harrow A will win the league. We gave them a good run for their money last night but lost 1½ – 2½ – came down to Jason’s game where a level position with pawns and a knight each. His opponent had very little time left, Jason had to allow an exchange of the knights and let his opponent win a pawn to avoid repetition, and it looked like he would win on time given his opponent had 10 seconds left, but he managed to take Jason’s 3 remaining pawns with seconds left so a draw was agreed.

Thanks to everyone for playing this season. Only had one default (though that meant we lost to West London). Thanks to some people that played at very short notice and got results against higher graded opponents: Harry who had a great win vs Andrew Hayler, and Subas whose draw gave us the win at Greenford.

Some very creditable performances including Hristo on 3.5/4; Chris 3.5/5; John 2/3; Rick and Harry 1/1.

And thanks particularly to Chris, Simon and Jason who played in at least half the matches.
