Last night (5th September), we held a very pleasurable simultaneous event with Lorin D’Costa. Lorin played against 17 of our members and won all 17 games. Congratulations to Yuri Hamano who was the last man standing after 2.5 hours. Also, a special mention to our junior member Gabriele Palmer who was the penultimate man standing. Gabriele resigned a few minutes before Yuri.
Lorin was captain of the England Women’s Team at this year’s Chess Olympiad in India (Aga Milewska was a team member). Here is Lorin’s interview at the tournament – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqfQwMfqpuk.
Trevor Bates also mentioned last night that there is some commentary on one of Lorin’s previous simultaneous events from 21st September 2021 by Natasha Regan and Matthew whom you may know from recent chess talks at Ealing Chess Club. You can view this at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kc8MCYSn2Ts.
