Simultaneous Tournament

The International Master Lorin D’Costa (see http://www.lorinchess.com/) has offered to take part in a simultaneous chess event at Actonians Sports Club on Monday, 5th September 2022 starting at 19:30. He is challenging 12 to 25 (or possibly up to 30) of our members to play chess against him.

Lorin is playing these games for the charity “She Plays To Win” which promotes chess among women. The event is open to both men and women, young and old, of all abilities with the entry fee being £20.
Lorin will play White on all boards and we will not be playing with clocks. However, the event should finish by 22:30.

The following members have said they would like to play:

1.    Jason Neish

2.    Subas Subbaraj

3.    Ian Patterson

4.    Trevor Bates

5.    Thomas Garner

6.    Mark Robinson

7.    Andy Glass

8.    David Websdale

9.    Neville Rowden

10.  Leslie Pringle

11.  Gabriele Palmer

12.  Yuri Hamano

13.  Roger Beeson

This means that we are still a few players short of an optimal number. If we don’t find enough players from Ealing, I will ask members from other local clubs if they would like to take part.

Please let me know (secretary.ealing.chess.club@gmail.com) if you would be interested in taking part in this event.

N.B. Club evenings will be suspended in the main bar on Monday, 5th September (for the simultaneous tournament). Members will still be able to play in the smaller bar on these dates.
